Children should also take regular eye test from ages above 5-7years .
What is short –sighted/myopia?
When one cant see distant objects clearly,due to shape of eyeball being too long.
What is far-sighted/hyperopia?
When one struggles with near vision like reading,due to shape of eyeball being too short.
What is astigmatism?
Astigmatism is commonly known as oval-shaped or rugby-shaped eyeball.Due to irregular shaped cornea it distorts vision both distance and near,can also cause headaches.
What is cataracts?
Refers to the lens in your eye that becomes yellow and milky with age hence reducing vision gradually.Is corrected by lens implant by an ophthalmologist.
What is glaucoma?
It is a condition when you get raised intraocular pressue,caused by too much fluid in the eye and poor functioning of the drainage mechanism in the eye.
This cause is unknown but can cause decrease of vision and total loss if not detected early and treated.
